The box is beautifully decorated with shell marquetry inlays and satinwood stringing, typical of late 18th century English craftsmanship. The hinged lid opens to a spacious interior above a single fitted drawer, each with a small turned knob. Both keyholes feature diamond shaped satinwood escutcheons, and the box retains its working lock with key. Made from richly figured
